The Ukrainian Red Cross is joining efforts to improve the effectiveness of work on raising awareness of explosive hazards and safety rules among the population.

"Our main mission is to make the country safer for every citizen. We have united professionals working in difficult conditions to find new approaches to solving problems together," Head of the Ukrainian Red Cross' Department of Humanitarian Access and Protection Svitlana Avramenko said.

As reported by the organization on Facebook, mine hazard specialists from 18 regions of Ukraine gathered in Kyiv to exchange experiences. The two-day event included practical trainings, workshops and lectures.

During panel discussions and workshops, participants discussed real situations they face on the ground, exchanged effective practices and developed strategic plans for each region. The knowledge gained will help specialists expand the scope of their work and improve the level of safety for citizens.

The event was attended by international partners representing the Danish Red Cross and the International Committee of the Red Cross, specialists from the mine detection dog center.
