Zelenskyy to discuss with Estonian PM Ukraine's participation in GEF summit

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy plans to discuss with Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal Ukraine's participation in the GEF summit due on December 16.

"We have been invited to take part in GEF. And I want to talk to the Estonian Prime Minister today," the Ukrainian head of state told Interfax-Ukraine before the meeting with the Estonian Prime Minister.

He also noted that these signals were addressed to UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

The President also noted that the teams are discussing the issue.

Zelenskyy stressed the importance of talking to the Estonian and UK sides and other partners to prepare and help staff the Ukrainian brigades.

"We have received positive feedback from the French side. Now we will talk to France about manning new brigades. We received positive feedback from the German side, although I will be honest that the Americans are preparing our brigade on German soil," he said.

The head of state said Ukraine has contacted Scandinavian and Baltic partners and wants them to help staff another brigade.

"We are not going to surrender to Putin and the Russians, so this support is very important for us," he said.

Michal, for his part, confirmed that Ukraine's participation in the GEF summit depends on many countries, particularly the UK. Nevertheless, Estonia will do everything possible to provide the brigade with various equipment.

In addition, according to him, Estonia is building up its defense industry in order to deliver ammunition faster, doing the utmost for Ukraine in the fight against Russia.
