Zelenskyy calls on denominations to work on enlargement of Ukrainian chaplaincy
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked everyone who is trying to enlarge Ukrainian chaplaincy and called on all denominations to carry out this work.
"I want to thank you for your prayers, for Ukraine and Ukrainians, for our people, for our children, for life. I am especially grateful to our chaplains, those who are with the guys on the first line and do not hide from everything they are going through there. I thank everyone who is trying to enlarge the Ukrainian chaplaincy and I call on all denominations to do this work, which is very important, very necessary," he said, addressing the participants of the first military prayer breakfast on Friday.
The head of state noted that the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine falls on the same date as Saint Nicholas Day.
"And today many of the Ukrainians will congratulate their children on St. Nicholas. Unfortunately, quite a lot of Ukrainians today will be thinking and praying for those whom this war has taken from them," he said.
According to Zelenskyy, everything will be done to strengthen the Ukrainian army.
"We want a fair peace for Ukraine and we will not forget about justice for all Ukrainians, about the just right of all our people to live in their home, security and in peace. And in unity we will pass this war and most importantly ensure a just peace for Ukraine," he said.
