American interviewer Fridman going to talk to Zelenskyy, Putin
American interviewer Lex Fridman, known for his podcast with world businessmen and politicians, is going to interview Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in January 2025, as well as Vladimir Putin.
"I hope to interview both Zelenskyy and Putin, likely in January. For this, I will travel to both Kyiv and Moscow. My hope is to do my small part to understand their perspectives and to find the path to peace. I understand the risks," Fridman wrote on the social media X.
Friedman noted that he "speaks fluent Russian and some Ukrainian."
Earlier, the podcaster expressed a desire to record an interview with Zelenskyy, to which the Ukrainian president responded with his consent.
Fridman began his podcast in 2018, as part of a course on artificial general intelligence. The podcast's first name was Artificial Intelligence Podcast, which was later changed to Lex Fridman Podcast to reflect the broader range of topics it was intended to cover. The podcast is produced using the extended interview model. All interviews are conducted in person and typically last between two and four hours.
Fridman's podcast has featured businessman Elon Musk, U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, and Argentine President Javier Milei.
Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Fridman said he considered Russians, Ukrainians, and Americans equally his people and would promote their cultures without giving in to pressure from any side.
