Kharkiv Tractor Plant will soon present the second modified version of the domestic demining machine.

As Deputy Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Yevhen Ivanov reported at the second mine action conference in Ukraine on Monday, three specialized machines, which were developed, certified and are being produced at , Kharkiv Tractor Plant are involved in demining in the region. Their production was made possible thanks to the support of the UN World Food Programme and the Swiss Foundation for Mine Action (FSD Ukraine).

"This is truly the first successful case in the country, when a mine-clearing machine was developed, certified and put into production from start to finish. Next week, a modified version of this machine will be presented. We are not stopping. And there are already developments, which are being joined by our other enterprises, which were previously engaged in civil engineering. There will be more machines," Ivanov assured.

The deputy head of the region drew attention to the fact that the cost of Ukrainian-made mine-clearing machines is on average EUR 120,000, while foreign analogues are EUR 600,000-700,000 and more. Ivanov attributed the availability of all necessary spare parts in the country and the possibility of prompt repair to the advantages of domestic special equipment.

"If it takes months to repair imported equipment, we take weeks. All spare parts are available… We have resources, we have people, and we have coordination. More special equipment means saving, first of all, the lives of our deminers, our civilian specialists," Ivanov summed up and added that the frontline regions of Ukraine really need more resources and more equipment for demining.

As reported, in 2023, Kharkiv Tractor Plant developed, certified and launched into production a model of a demining machine based on the T-150 tracked tractor.
