36 out of 89 enemy UAVs shot down as of 9:00 on Wed, 48 locally lost
On the night of November 27 and as of 9:00, air defense units shot down 36 enemy UAVs attacking Ukraine, 48 were locally lost, five returned home, the press service of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.
"On the night of November 27, 2024 (from 19:30 on November 26), the enemy attacked Ukraine with 89 Shahed-type attack UAVs and unidentified drones from the directions of Orel, Bryansk, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk of the Russian Federation," the Armed Forces said on Telegram on Wednesday.
It is indicated that as of 09:00, 36 enemy drones were shot down by air defense in Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytsky and Mykolaiv regions. Aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare equipment and mobile fire groups of the Air and Defense Forces of Ukraine were involved in repelling the attack.
"Forty-eight UAVs were locally lost, probably due to the active counteraction of the radio warfare of the Defense Forces, five drones left the controlled airspace towards Belarus, Russia and the temporarily occupied territories," the press service informs.
It is noted that due to the falling debris of enemy UAVs, private and apartment buildings and property of citizens in Kyiv region were damaged. According to preliminary estimates, there were no casualties.
