Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Olena Kondratiuk has held a working meeting with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic, during which she discussed with him topical issues of interstate cooperation, in particular, the continuation of military assistance to Ukraine and support for Ukraine's accession to the EU and NATO.

"We are of the same mind that the European Union should speak with one voice when it comes to security in Europe. And most importantly, an increase in spending on security and defense," Kondratiuk wrote on Facebook on Thursday.

The parties also discussed Croatia's accession to the NATO NSATU mission in the field of security and military training for Ukraine, as well as humanitarian demining of the territory of Ukraine. "Croatia plans to transfer 67 special vehicles by the end of the year and we hope this assistance will continue," said the deputy speaker of the Ukrainian parliament.

Kondratiuk and Plenkovic also discussed the rehabilitation and treatment of Ukrainian military and veterans in Croatia. "Fifty-seven of our military have already gone through this program. We ask you to form a new group and accept 20 more people," she said.

The parties also exchanged experience in the creation and functioning of the Ministry of Demography of Croatia. "The best practices for restoring human capital and overcoming the demographic crisis that Croatia faced after the War of Independence and Ukraine is facing now," Kondratiuk said.

She thanked the government and people of Croatia for supporting Ukrainians and the Ukrainian state during the aggression of the Russian Federation and called Plenkovic a "friend of Ukraine." According to her, the Croatian Prime Minister is "a supporter of European leadership in overcoming the challenges facing Ukraine and Europe."

"We understand that you need more support, in particular from the EU. Croatia is significantly helping Ukraine, but it will help even more. We will provide as much as we can," Plenkovic assured.
