Zelenskyy conveys to Stubb Ukraine's needs to strengthen air defense
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy conveyed to Finnish President Alexander Stubb the current defense needs to strengthen air defense and supply additional air defense assets.
As reported by the presidential press service, Zelenskyy held a phone call with Stubb.
"The main topics of the conversation were international efforts needed to restore a just peace for Ukraine, continued defense cooperation and the battlefield situation. The leaders discussed the threats to regional and global security posed by North Korea’s involvement in Russia’s war against Ukraine," the press service said.
Zelenskyy thanked Finland for its unwavering support for Ukraine and the Peace Formula, as well as for all the specific steps taken to implement it. " In particular, he praised the effective organization of the thematic conference on environmental security in Helsinki," the press service said.
Separately, the Ukrainian President expressed gratitude to Stubb for his active role in promoting peace based on the principles of the UN Charter during his communication with the countries of the Global South.
As reported, Stubb said on the X social network on Friday that he discussed with Zelenskyy the topics he raised during his state visit to China. "We also discussed Finland's strong support for Ukraine and the results of the presidential elections in the United States," the Finnish President said.
