Poroshenko purchases 40 Ukrainian Vampire hexacopters for AFU
Businessman, member of parliament of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, bought 40 Vampire hexacopters of Ukrainian production for units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with a total cost of UAH 34 million, the European Solidarity party said on its official website.
"For every Russian ghoul, there is a Ukrainian Vampire. And in our case, as many as 40 of them will go to the front ... Let the enemy know: very soon these weapons will be at the front in the hands of the best pilots," Poroshenko said.
The drones are capable of carrying 15 kg of warhead or other cargo, can rise up to 400 m in height and have a flight range of up to 10 km. They can carry and drop various types of projectiles: thermobaric, cumulative, high-explosive fragmentation, which allows them to effectively hit various types of targets, including tanks and other armored vehicles.
All Vampires are equipped with thermal imaging cameras, are resistant to enemy electronic warfare and have the function of returning home.
In addition to combat use, Vampires also often work as couriers - they deliver food and water to advanced units.
