Yatsenyuk: Task of Ukrainian authorities is to explain to Trump that Russia’s victory means US defeat in front of all dictatorial regimes
The task of both the Ukrainian authorities and Western allies is to explain to Donald Trump that Russia's victory means the defeat of the United States in front of all dictatorial regimes, said Arseniy Yatsenyuk, head of the Kyiv Security Forum.
He stressed that today he does not see "the likelihood that Ukraine can become a member of NATO under Donald Trump."
"It is unfortunate that the current U.S. administration did not actually take advantage of two opportunities to grant Ukraine membership in NATO – both last year and this year. And now, by the end of this year, it is clear that we will not even receive an invitation to membership," Yatsenyuk is sure.
At the same time, he stressed, he does not see the likelihood at all that the United States, under the leadership of Donald Trump, "will surrender to Russia, and as part of this surrender, Russia will seize Ukraine."
"This is also a scenario with almost zero probability," he said.
Therefore, Yatsenyuk is sure that now the Ukrainian authorities and Western allies face the task of reaching out to Trump and explaining to him that the victory of the Russian Federation in Ukraine means the defeat of the United States – not to Russia, but to China, North Korea, Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah and dozens more dictatorial regimes that want the fall of the United States.
