Luhansk Group denies enemy claims about capture Chasiv Yar, Toretsk

Spokesperson for the Luhansk Operational and Tactical Group Anastasia Bobovnykova has denied enemy claims about the alleged capture of Chasiv Yar and Toretsk, Donetsk region.

"We see many reports from Russians that they have already allegedly captured these towns, [that they] are there, [and they] feel free [there]. I refute this information. The enemy has not crossed the canal in Chasiv Yar, and it has not gained its foothold there. Small assault groups are crossing the canal, trying to gain a foothold, the key word is trying," she said on the national telethon Friday.

The spokesperson also noted that the Russian forces currently do not prevail in Chasiv Yar and Toretsk, the contact line is stabilized now, and the enemy is not advancing.

At the same time, Bobovnykova pointed out that there is a certain decrease in the number of assaults in the area of responsibility of the Luhansk Group, but the enemy is accumulating reserves, bringing manpower to the forward positions, accumulating ammunition, preparing equipment and equipping it with electronic warfare.

"It is possible that after some time, when they finish their preparations, the number of assaults will increase in our direction," she said, adding that the enemy uses very few equipment.

Bobovnykova said that the occupiers have somewhat changed tactics, as far as the use of small assault groups is concerned.

"They used to storm head-on and lost a lot of manpower before, and now they are focusing on sabotage and reconnaissance groups and so-called secrets, when one or two people cross the canal, for example, in Chasiv Yar and hide in basements, dens, and in destroyed houses," she said.

The goal of such actions of the enemy is to maximize accumulation of forces before the assault, but these attempts are detected by Ukrainian UAVs and drone operators.
