Ukrainian paratroopers inflict losses of almost 8,000 Russian soldiers in Kursk region operation

Since the beginning of the operation in Kursk region of the Russian Federation, the airborne assault troops of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have inflicted losses on Russian troops at the level of 15 battalions (about 8,000 soldiers), the communications department of the command of the airborne assault troops of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reports.

"Since the beginning of the operation in Kursk region of the Russian Federation, military units and subdivisions of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have inflicted losses on the enemy of almost eight thousand soldiers, which is equal to 15 enemy battalions. Thus, sanitary and irreparable losses among the Russian occupiers amounted to 7,980 people," the Airborne Assault Troops said in a message on Telegram on Friday.

Successes in destroying enemy equipment and weapons were also noted. "In total, 58 tanks, 162 infantry fighting vehicles, 46 armored personnel carriers, 136 artillery systems, two multiple launch rocket systems, 592 vehicles, 46 electronic warfare stations and other special equipment were destroyed or damaged," the report says.

In addition, three helicopters and 146 enemy drones of various types were destroyed in the air. Namely: two Ka-52 combat helicopters, one Mi-8, 111 reconnaissance drones of various types, 34 attack drones (Shahed, Lancet) and one Orion reconnaissance and attack UAV.

It is emphasized that 9,874 enemy FPV drones were suppressed (missions were disrupted) by paratroopers' electronic warfare systems.

In addition, paratroopers captured almost 300 enemy servicemen, as well as nine tanks, four armored personnel carriers, nine artillery pieces, six mortars, etc.

The operation in Kursk region began on August 6.
