Russia launches 2,023 attack UAVs on Ukrainian territory in October – AFU General Staff
In October 2024, Russian occupiers used 2023 Shahed-type attack UAVs and unidentified drones against civilian and military targets in Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
"Of these, 1,185 were destroyed/suppressed by Ukrainian defenders, 738 units were lost in location, and another 29 UAVs left the airspace controlled by our state," the message posted on the Telegram channel states.
In total, since the beginning of 2024, the enemy has launched 6,987 attack UAVs into Ukrainian territory. The enemy drones primarily targeted civilian and critical infrastructure in Ukraine.
"Thanks to the professionalism and skill of the servicemen of the defense forces, thousands of lives of our people were saved from Russian air terror, hundreds of houses of Ukrainian citizens and important state facilities were protected from destruction. Anti-aircraft missile troops, aviation, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups continue to protect the Ukrainian skies around the clock," the General Staff emphasizes.
