Some partners have already raised the issue of sanctions against the shadow fleet of the Russian Federation, but this requires a decision not only from Northern European countries, but from the entire European Union, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"Some of the partners during EU sessions and EU meetings rise up already. They have a goal to stop their fleet today, stop it, by the way, in the Nordic territorial waters and it is really difficult. You need the decision not only of the Nordic, but you the decision of the EU," Zelenskyy said in an interview for the Nordic media.

At the same time, the president noted that the Nordic countries could raise the issue of sanctions against the Russian shadow fleet, since it is not only about money, but also about environmental risks.

Zelenskyy added that the Russian Federation earns approximately EUR 10 billion to EUR 12 billion from the work of the shadow fleet.

"If we count all the support that Ukraine got during the period of the war from all partners, you will see that their fleet brought them [Russians] more money, because the sanctions work, but not 100%," the head of state emphasized.
