Air defense forces shoot down 32 enemy drones, two Kinzhal missiles

On the night of October 7, 2024 (from 8 p.m. on Sunday to 8.30 a.m. on Monday), the enemy attacked Ukraine with Iskander-M ballistic missile, Kh-59 guided air missile, an unidentified missile from the Kursk and Belgorod regions, as well as with strike drones and three Kh-47M2 Kinzhal missiles, the Ukrainian Air Force has said on Monday morning, adding that 32 drones and two Kinzhal missiles were shot down by the air defense.

At about 8.20 a.m., the enemy launched three Kh-47M2 Kinzhal air-launched ballistic missiles from three MiG-31K fighter jets from the airspace of the Tambov region, Savasleika airfield.

In total, the radio-technical troops of the Air Force detected more than 80 air targets.

The air attack was repelled by anti-aircraft rocket forces, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the defense forces of Ukraine.

"As a result of the air defense battle, the shooting down of two air-launched ballistic missiles Kh-47M2 Kinzhal in Kyiv region and 32 enemy attack drones in Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Chernihiv, Poltava, and Kharkiv regions was confirmed," it is said the message on the Telegram channel.

Several hits of enemy attack drones in the frontline areas of Kharkiv region were recorded. One of the three Kinzhal missiles hit the vicinity of the Starokstiantyniv airfield in Khmelnytsky region.

In addition, 37 Russian drones were locally lost in different regions of Ukraine, probably as a result of active electronic warfare countermeasures. The information will be updated.
