Disinformation Countering Center denies Russia's allegations about Ukraine's attack on Kursk NPP
Russian propaganda reports about a Ukrainian attack on the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) in the town of Kurchatov, Kursk region, do not correspond to reality, the Center for Countering Disinformation has said on Thursday.
According to Andriy Kovalenko, who is the head of the center and an officer of the Ukrainian defense forces, Russian reports of an alleged attack on the Kursk NPP by four HIMARS missiles, all of which were intercepted by Russian air defense, are blatantly untrue.
"Of course, nobody hit the nuclear power plant, there is no expediency in that. The Russians show some fire in Kurchatov and the video has an explosion on the ground. What does this have to do with shelling the nuclear power plant? It's a long way away. There is nothing in common with the attack on the Kursk NPP," he said.
