Patriot system donated by Romania arrives in Ukraine
A Patriot surface-to-air missile system donated by Romania has arrived in Ukraine, Radio Liberty reported on Thursday, citing a representative of the Romanian Defense Ministry.
"We confirm that the Patriot system has arrived in Ukraine," Spokesperson for the Romanian Ministry of National Defense Constantin Spinu told Radio Liberty in a commentary after the government in Bucharest decided last month to transfer the system to Kyiv.
The day before, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the X social network expressed gratitude to all countries that help with the provision of air defense systems.
"Special thanks to Romania for the Patriot system. Together we can achieve even greater effectiveness – we can put an end to Russian terror by jointly shooting down Shaheds and missiles," he said.
