Embassy of Ukraine in Israel operating normally, but Ukrainians advised to refrain from traveling to the country – ambassador
The Ukrainian Embassy in Israel is safe and operating normally, Ukrainian Ambassador to Israel Yevhen Korniychuk said.
“The Ukrainian Embassy is completely safe and operating normally. At this moment, the consular reception of citizens is taking place. There is a small queue of people on the street. Everything is absolutely normal,” the ambassador said on the telethon broadcast on Wednesday.
He pointed out that most of the strikes of Iran's massive missile attack against Israel were repulsed on the evening of October 1.
“The Embassy was not damaged, all employees were in shelters. Everything was in normal mode. Everyone was instructed and knew what to do in such a situation,” Korniychuk said.
The Ambassador of Ukraine also again recommended that Ukrainian citizens refrain from traveling to Israel for tourist purposes.
“Of course, we do not advise our citizens to visit Israel for tourist purposes now. Because it is unsafe and complicated due to the fact that many airlines refuse to fly to Israel.
In fact, it is safe to fly only by Israeli companies,” he stressed.
According to the diplomat, at this moment the aviation space is open, the Ben-Gurion airport is open.
“We will be ready to provide assistance to all citizens in danger, but, of course, it is better to avoid this danger and simply postpone the trip, because we do not know how the situation will develop in the future,” Korniychuk said.
The Ambassador noted that two people in Israel were injured by rocket attacks or debris, and one person in Palestine was killed, about a hundred houses were damaged. At the same time, the Israeli side does not confirm information about hitting military targets, he added.
