Last night, Air Force shoots down 69 attack UAVs, two guided missiles

Last night, Air Force units shot down two of the four missiles that attacked Ukraine and 69 of the 73 attack UAVs, the press service of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) said.

"On the night of September 28, 2024 [from 19:00 on September 27 to 08:00 on September 28], the radio-technical troops of the Air Force detected and accompanied 77 enemy air attack weapons: two Iskander-M ballistic missiles from occupied Crimea; two Kh-59/69 guided air missiles from the airspace of Zaporizhia region; 73 Shahed-type attack UAVs from the areas of Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Orel – Russia, Mys Chauda – Crimea," the AFU press service said in a statement on Telegram channel on Saturday.

It is reported that as a result of the air battle, two Kh-59/69 guided air missiles and 69 enemy Shahed-type attack UAVs were shot down. "One drone flew in the direction of Russia, three more were lost locally on the territory of Ukraine," the AFU said.

According to the press service of the Armed Forces, aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, mobile fire groups and electronic warfare units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine were involved in repelling the enemy's air attack.

Air defense operated in Kyiv, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Kirovograd, Rivne, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Odesa and Mykolaiv regions.
