Even worst deal between Ukraine, Russia to be better than current situation – Trump at campaign rally

Even the worst negotiations with Russia on ending the war in Ukraine will lead to a better situation than the current one, the United States will not allow American soldiers to die overseas, U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump said, speaking at a campaign rally in North Carolina.

"It's not Ukraine anymore. You can never replace those cities and towns, and you can never replace the dead people. So many dead people. Any deal, even the worst deal would have been better than what we have right now. If they [Ukraine] made a bad deal, it would have been much better," Trump expressed his conviction.

He criticized the administration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris in the context of support for Ukraine and again ambiguously stated that he would stop military aid to Ukraine if he was elected president.

Addressing his voters and referring to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Trump said: "And we continue to give billions of dollars to a man who refuses to make a deal... There was no deal that he could have made that wouldn't have been better than the situation you have right now."

According to Trump, it will take hundreds of years to rebuild Ukraine, and there is not enough money for it.

"If the whole world got together, they're not going to be satisfied until they send American kids over to Ukraine. And that's what they're trying to do. And the moms and dads of America don't want their kids fighting Ukraine and Russia. And we're not going to have our soldiers die across the ocean," he concluded.
