Zelenskyy, Scholz discuss ways to bring fair peace closer

As part of a working trip to the United States, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

"I met with Olaf Scholz. We talked about how to bring a fair peace closer. The main thing is to maintain unity. Our Peace Formula was created precisely for this, and we held a successful first Peace Summit," Zelenskyy wrote in his Telegram channel on Monday evening.

The President added that Ukraine is currently preparing the second Summit, which is a real platform to guarantee the full restoration of security for Ukraine and all of Europe.

Zelenskyy thanked Germany for its support. "Together, we have saved thousands of lives and can definitely give more strength and security to all of Europe," he emphasized.

At the same time, Scholz noted that he is in favor of reforming the UN Security Council.

"The UN Security Council in its current constellation has fallen out of time. The fact that entire continents are not represented is a mistake. It needs to be reformed. With the Pact for the Future, we are initiating a process to change that," Scholz noted on X.
