Poroshenko calls budget under martial law a matter of war and peace

Member of Parliament of Ukraine, leader of the European Solidarity party, Petro Poroshenko, called for the adoption of the state budget to reduce all non-targeted expenditures, and direct funds to provide the Defense Forces.

As noted on the website of the political force, according to Poroshenko, the budget cannot be adopted in the form proposed by the government. "What is a budget? The budget is a strategy for the development of the state, the implementation of the government's action program, calculated in numbers. What are you going to develop when the government has not submitted an action program to the body to which it is controlled and accountable for several years? Where is it going?" said Poroshenko, speaking from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada.

According to him, the government did not take into account UAH 500 billion, which should be spent on financing defense, and stressed that financing the army in Ukraine should be a priority.

"Imagine that Denmark is financing 18 Bogdan self-propelled guns, and Ukraine is financing a telethon, and financing it with funds that it is ripping off soldiers who are not receiving extra payments, not receiving FPV drones. Only yesterday I delivered 80 night Mavics, and in the previous month the entire state was able to provide only 50. This is unacceptable. We must decline this budget and consider the defense and victory budget," Poroshenko stressed.
