US citizen Routh never served in Intl Legion in Ukraine

U.S. citizen Ryan Routh has never served in the International Legion, the Main Intelligence Agency of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GUR) refutes speculation that American Ryan Routh, suspected of attempting to assassinate U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump, served in the foreign Legion in Ukraine.

“American citizen Ryan Routh has never served in the International Legion of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, has no relation to the unit.⠀ Rumors disseminated in certain media are not true,” the Legion said on Telegram.

On Sunday, a shooting incident occurred in Florida near the golf club where Trump was staying.

According to three American media outlets, the suspect in the attempted assassination of Trump has been detained and identified as 58-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh. He was allegedly armed with an assault rifle and was near a golf club in Florida when the former president was playing golf on Sunday afternoon. Routh was reportedly able to push the barrel of the rifle through the mesh fence of the golf club. The Secret Service noticed him and opened fire. A number of media outlets linked Routh to Ukraine.
