Ukraine, Poland discuss further defense cooperation – MFA
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha stated that long-term budget planning and other strategic EU decisions must already take into account the political reality of Ukraine's future membership, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) press service.
"We expect significant progress in the negotiations on Ukraine's EU membership during Poland's presidency in the first half of next year. We also count on the parallel opening of negotiation clusters," he said on Friday during a visit by Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski to Ukraine.
The two foreign ministers discussed further defense cooperation and key steps by allies needed to strengthen Ukraine.
According to Sybiha, one of the central topics of discussion was the development of border and logistics infrastructure, as well as the possibility of increasing railway connections between the capitals of Ukraine and Poland.
