Energoatom detects over 100 drones, missiles near Ukraine's NPPs in less than 1 month
More than 70 drones and over 30 cruise missiles from the aggressor state, Russia, have been detected near Ukraine's nuclear power plants (NPPs) in recent weeks, reported Ukraine's National Nuclear Energy Generating Company, Energoatom.
"These actions by Russia pose an unprecedented threat not only to Ukraine but to the entire continent. No other state in the world has ever created such risks to nuclear facilities," stated Energoatom on Telegram on Friday.
The operator emphasized that it informs relevant institutions about each incident, so Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs can send diplomatic notes to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and notify both domestic and international organizations.
"We expect a strong reaction and condemnation of the Russian aggressor's actions. The international community must force Russia to stop endangering Ukraine's nuclear plants," said Energoatom's CEO, Petro Kotin, in the release.
