Ukraine’s defense ministers, USA discuss front situation at front, plans, needs of Ukrainian soldiers

Before the next meeting in the Ramstein format, Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov discussed with the U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin the situation at the front and the needs of Ukrainian soldiers.

“We discussed the situation at the front. Kursk. Pokrovsk. Current situation, our plans, and needs. We focus on air defense as a critical component of our defense, especially in the context of protecting civilians and infrastructure from russian terrorist air attacks,” Umerov said on Facebook.

He noted that separately in the conversation, the ministers focused on strengthening the defense potential of Ukraine. “The Ukrainian defense industry has capabilities and potential for growth. We are working to produce more weapons in Ukraine together with our closest allies,” Umerov said.

He also expressed gratitude to his American counterpart for the announced new package of military assistance in the amount of $250 million.

“The U.S. is working with our allies and partners to help Ukraine meet its current battlefield needs while forging its long-term security,” he added.
