The Russian army suffered significant losses on the battlefields in Kursk region and the previously existing threat of a Russian offensive on Sumy has now been removed, notes Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"So far, during the first month of our operation in Kursk region, the Russian forces have lost about 6,000 soldiers killed and wounded in Kursk only, and other tens of thousands of Russian troops in other war zones. Thanks to our actions, there is currently no threat that Russia will launch a new offensive operation on our territory again in the city of Sumy, as it was a case in May this year, when Putin launched an assault against our city of Kharkiv," Zelenskyy said at a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, which is taking place at NATO's Ramstein Air Base in Germany on Friday.
