URCS Director General, Mayor of Bucha sign memo on assistance to residents of community

Director General of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) Maksym Dotsenko and Mayor of Bucha Anatoliy Fedoruk signed a memorandum on strengthening assistance to socially vulnerable groups of the population of the Bucha community who suffered as a result of hostilities.

"The memorandum provides for joint work to support critical infrastructure enterprises of the Bucha community, in particular, energy independence, water treatment systems, as well as the development and provision of social services to residents of the community, including physical [rehabilitation] and mental support," the URCS reported on Facebook on Friday.

The memorandum also provides for a radical reconstruction of the water supply system in the village of Babyntsi: drilling two wells, installing a new water tower and building a modern water treatment plant. These measures will provide quality drinking water to more than 3,500 residents of the village and two educational institutions.

"The Ukrainian Red Cross Society always supports people in communities during any humanitarian challenges. It is important for us that the population receives the necessary assistance in a timely manner," Dotsenko noted.

In turn, Fedoruk said that thanks to cooperation with the URCS, the quality of water in the community will improve, and the number of wells will increase.

"In cooperation with the Ukrainian Red Cross Society, we plan to increase the number of wells in Bucha and Vorzel. This is all part of a comprehensive strategy for modernization of the water utility. There is a clear vision of development so that the quality of water in the community becomes better," Fedoruk noted.

According to him, the community will cooperate with the Ukrainian Red Cross Society not only in the issue of water supply, but also in other areas, which he will talk about soon.

Since 2022, the Ukrainian Red Cross Society has been actively cooperating with the Bucha community in the restoration of healthcare facilities, schools and kindergartens. In addition, the URCS supports the population by providing various humanitarian aid.
