Of 16 enemy UAVs, 14 shot down, two locally lost – AFU Air Force
Air defense forces and means shot down 14 attack UAVs on Thursday night, two more were lost locationally (fell on their own), said Mykola Oleschuk, Commander of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to him, on the night of August 23, 2024, the Russian occupiers struck with two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from Voronezh region and 16 Shahed-type attack UAVs (launch areas - Yeysk, Kursk - RF).
"As a result of the air defense battle, 14 shaheds were shot down by aviation, electronic warfare units and calculations of mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Two more were locally lost, information about the destruction was not received," Oleschuk said.
