Zelenskyy discusses with U.S. Congress members air defense, ending war on fair terms

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with a bipartisan delegation from the United States House of Representatives on Thursday during their visit to Kyiv.

"We talked about protecting our state and our values from Russian terror. The key focus is air defense, saving the lives of Ukrainians, and stopping any attempts by Russia to drag this war. We are doing everything to achieve a just peace as quickly as possible," he said on the Telegram channel.

The head of state thanked the United States for its support.

According to Zelenskyy's press service, he also thanked the American delegation for visiting Kyiv and Odesa and noted the support of the United States in countering Russian aggression, in particular, in the context of the supply of F-16 aircraft to Ukraine.

During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed in detail the strengthening of Ukraine's defense capability and the priority needs of the Defense and Security Forces. In particular, the President noted the importance of obtaining additional air defense systems to effectively protect civilians and critical infrastructure, as well as Ukraine's need to expand training missions for Ukrainian pilots and technicians in the United States.

The parties paid special attention to Ukraine's advancement on the path of Euro-Atlantic integration. The Head of State also spoke about further steps to implement the results of the Peace Summit and promote the Peace Formula.

The U.S. delegation included Congressmen Donald Norcross, Celeste Maloy and James Panetta.
