The Parliamentary Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence recommended to the Verkhovna Rada to adopt revised bill No. 11379-d, on amendments to the law "On Mobilization Training and Mobilization," eliminating the legal conflict that allows conscripted persons to be mobilized up to the age of 25, said committee member Iryna Friz (European Solidarity faction).
"The Committee decided to recommend to the Verkhovna Rada to adopt the revised draft law … This is a draft law finalized by the committee, which eliminates the legal conflict that created the grounds for the Centers of Territorial Recruitment and Social Support to mobilize citizens under 25 years of age," Friz told Interfax-Ukraine on Monday.
According to her, the bill not only eliminates this "blatant injustice,l" but also solves the issue of "those mobilized under 25 years of age."
"They can be discharged from military service in the reserve if they have not expressed a desire to extend their service," Friz stressed.
Draft law (No. 11379) on amendments to the law "On Mobilization Training and Mobilization" on expanding the range of military service to the age of 25 to grant a deferral from conscription during mobilization was registered in the Verkhovna Rada on June 24.
