Klitschko donates first batch of 100 Quantum Systems Trinity mapping drones to border guards
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, together with the German UAV manufacturer Quantum-Systems SSTLC, handed over the first batch of 28 Quantum Systems Trinity mapping drones to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
"Today I handed over the first batch to the State Border Service of Ukraine – 28 Quantum Systems Trinity mapping drones equipped with a Sony RX1 payload – an RGB camera," Klitschko said in Telegram on Tuesday.
According to him, the transfer of 100 such modern drones was agreed upon with the CEO of Quantum Systems last year during the Stern Steward Summit in Germany. "In March, Quantum Systems signed an official agreement with the German charity We Are All Ukrainians gemeinnützige GmbH, through which the drones are being transferred to Kyiv," Klitschko said.
Klitschko said Quantum Systems plans to deliver ten Trinity drones every two weeks until it delivers all 100 planned drones.
"Border guards will use the equipment to organize control of Ukraine's borders and respond to various challenges. As well as to survey and map the infrastructure. SSTLC instructors will train border service personnel after the first batch is delivered and will be responsible for all support, training and logistics activities," Klitschko said.
