It is noted that the Saki airfield is one of the "operational airfields that Russia uses to control airspace, in particular the Black Sea, and to launch air strikes on Ukrainian territory."

Information about the consequences of the hit is being clarified.

"It is important to note that the airport was covered by ‘modern’ Russian air defense systems, which once again failed to protect an important military facility of the Russian Federation," the message says.

The General Staff emphasizes that the joint combat work of all components of the Defense Forces on important goals of the armed forces of the Russian Federation will continue.
