Ukrainian air defense eliminates 17 strike drones, 8 recon UAVs overnight – Air Force
Air defense forces shot down 17 of 23 strike drones that attacked Ukraine at night, as well as eight reconnaissance ones, commander of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Mykola Oleschuk said on Wednesday morning.
"On the night of July 24, 2024, the Russian occupiers attacked Kharkiv region with an Iskander-M ballistic missile and a missile, the type of which is being established [from Belgorod region - Russia]. The enemy also attacked the south of the country with attack Shahed UAVs o from Primorsko -Akhtarsk - Russia and occupied Crimea," he wrote on the Telegram channel.
It is emphasized that "the radio engineering troops detected and escorted 23 enemy attack UAVs. The air attack was repelled by mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, anti-aircraft missile units and electronic warfare of the Air Force. As a result of the anti-aircraft battle, 17 enemy UAVs were shot down. The majority were in Odesa region."
Oleschuk also said that over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have destroyed at least eight enemy reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles in different directions: four - Zala, two - Supercam, and two - Orlan-10.
