During Zelenskyy-Trump conversation, his visit to Ukraine discussed – Nykyforov
During the conversation between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump, the possibility of Trump's visit to Ukraine was discussed, but it is too early to talk about specifics, Zelenskyy's press secretary Serhiy Nykyforov said during the telethon.
"Let's put it this way: the fundamental agreement of both parties to the meeting was recorded. Specific periods of time were discussed when this meeting should take place. But it is still very, very early to talk about this. These teams will work and coordinate schedules and details when this may be possible," Nykyforov said.
When asked whether the possibility of Trump's visit to Ukraine was discussed, he replied that "it was indeed discussed. This is important to emphasize. [Discussed] when this should happen and where. But the specifics are still very premature – both the format, the time, and the place."
Zelenskyy's press secretary also said the parties discussed yesterday's attack by the Russian army on Mykolaiv and the July 8 attack on the Okhmatdyt children's hospital. At the same time, Zelenskyy called on Trump not to believe representatives of those countries who are trying to justify Putin's actions. "Of course, there are no excuses here. He is an ordinary killer, the president said so in a telephone conversation," Nykyforov said.
In turn, according to Nykyforov, "Trump also said a very interesting thing: he said not to believe fake news, that his victory in the elections could be beneficial to Russia."
