Kuleba, UN High Commissioner announce launch of Ukraine is Home online platform for Ukrainian returnees

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, in cooperation with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), announced the launch of the Ukraine is Home online platform, designed to support efforts to restore Ukraine, as well as the return of Ukrainians, the ministry's press service said.

The MFA official website reported on Thursday that on July 18, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba held talks in Kyiv with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi. They discussed strengthening cooperation between Ukraine and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

"Following the meeting, the parties announced the joint launch of the Ukraine is Home online platform which will become an important tool for supporting efforts to restore and rebuild Ukraine, as well as the return of Ukrainians. The platform will provide displaced persons and families with verified and up-to-date information that will help them to make informed decisions about the possibility of returning from abroad to Ukraine," the MFA said.

"We welcome the leadership and coordinating role of UNHCR in providing assistance to Ukrainians both in the country and abroad. While Russian aggression continues, our people abroad continue to need international help and support," Kuleba said.

The minister said "we are ready to work together to help those Ukrainians abroad who are ready to return home. In this regard, we expect that one of the important tools will be the Ukraine is Home platform, which is starting its work under the auspices of the UNHCR. This platform will help people get reliable and up-to-date information on all issues related to returning to Ukraine, see what opportunities and advantages are available, and make an informed choice."
