Shmyhal: NBU makes decisions that will strengthen financing of Ukrainian energy restoration projects

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal says that the National Bank (NBU) has made decisions that will strengthen financing of Ukrainian energy restoration projects.

“The NBU has made decisions that will strengthen the financing of projects for the restoration of the Ukrainian energy sector. The potential of banks to increase their loan portfolios is increasing by 1.5 times. New provisions will contribute to the development of project lending, including for the rapid restoration of energy infrastructure,” Shmyhal wrote on the Telegram channel.

According to the prime minister, the availability of loans is increasing for households, as well as small and medium-sized businesses for the purchase of energy equipment.

"These decisions are part of our overall strategy, which will help implement the decentralization of the energy system of Ukraine. We give Ukrainian families, homeowners' associations, businesses, and communities the opportunity to strengthen their own energy sustainability. Preferential loans for energy equipment, simplified connection of new installations, grants for the installation of solar generation and heat pumps. At the same time, the state and communities are installing mini-CHPPs throughout the country,” he added.
