Ukraine increases rolled steel production by half in Jan-Feb
Based on the results of work in January-February of this year, Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises increased the production of general rolled products, according to operational data, by 52.5% compared to the same period last year, to 900,000 tonnes from 590,000 tonnes.
According to information from the Ukrmetalurgprom association on Friday, during this period, steel production grew by 52% compared to January-February 2023, to 1.076 million tonnes from 708,000 tonnes.
Pig iron smelting rose by 42.5%, to 1.050 million tonnes from 737,000 tonnes.
As reported, in January 2024 it increased the production of general rolled products by 75.9% compared to the same period last year, to 453,000 tonnes from 257,000 tonnes, steel by 91.6%, to 544,000 tonnes from 284,000 tonnes, cast iron by 44.5%, to 555,000 tonnes from 384,000 tonnes.
