The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has said in recommendations to mobile communications operators Kyivstar, Vodafone Ukraine and lifecell that setting the 28 day billing period for tariffs has signs of violation of the legislation on protection from unfair competition, Government Plenipotentiary of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine Maria Protsyshen said on her Facebook page on Thursday.

However, she also said that no penalties were imposed on operators following the decisions of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine.

Protsyshen also said that, according to the decision of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, the establishment of a four-week billing period by operators deprives consumers of the possibility of comparing prices of different tariff plans with different payment periods. It is also recommended that operators in each tariff or package of services inform consumers about the estimated cost per day.

"The operators will inform the Antimonopoly Committee about the consideration and ways of fulfilling the recommendations within a 30 day period and we will evaluate the compliance of their implementation. And now I still hope that in the near future the operators will change the situation in this area, since all three of them recognized the presence of ambiguity and problems in this area," Protsyshen said.
