President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has initiated a program for the partial compensation of fuel costs for Ukrainians through the introduction of a specific cashback system.

"The Ministries of Economy and Energy of Ukraine must also prepare a support program for those of our people who are currently feeling particular pressure due to the destabilization of the fuel market resulting from the situation surrounding Iran and the reduction of oil supplies to the global market. The program will apply to consumers of diesel, gasoline, and autogas in Ukraine and will operate through a cashback system, allowing for the compensation of a portion of fuel expenses," Zelenskyy wrote on Telegram on Thursday.

He reported that he instructed Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko to "work out the details of the support programs today and tomorrow and present them to the public." Zelenskyy noted that he reached an agreement with Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, and Ministers Oleksiy Sobolev and Denys Uliutin to "prepare several support programs for Ukrainians."
