Russian air attacks target DTEK TPPs, cause damage

Russia has once again carried out attacks on DTEK thermal power plants, damaging their equipment, the energy holding company jas reported.

"This is the seventh massive attack on the company's thermal power plants since October. In total, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, DTEK thermal power plants have been attacked by the enemy more than 210 times," the report says.

DTEK noted that four energy workers were killed and 59 injured as a result of attacks on its thermal power plants.

As reported, as a result of the ninth massive attack by the Russian Federation on the energy sector since the beginning of the year, consumers in the Rivne, Ternopil and Khmelnytsky regions were almost completely without electricity on the morning of December 23, Acting Minister of Energy Artem Nekrasov said.

In addition, according to him, there are also power outages in Vinnytsia, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr regions and in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions due to shelling.

The Ministry of Energy clarified that emergency power outages are applied in all regions of Ukraine, and will be canceled after the situation stabilizes. According to him, nuclear power plants were forced to reduce power after attacks on the networks that provide it.
