Some UAH 82.5 bln needed for environmental restoration projects, UAH 25 bln to be allocated in 2025 – Minister
The total investment need for restoration projects of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources is about UAH 82.5 billion, in 2025 it is planned to allocate UAH 25 billion from the state budget for these purposes, head of the ministry Svitlana Hrynchuk said.
"We have a number of tools for attracting investment in environmental restoration. One of these cases is the government ecosystem DREAM, where ministries and other central executive bodies submit their investment projects, and potential investors have access to it for decision-making. This is a large government platform through which investment will be attracted. According to our estimates, the total investment need for the Ministry of Natural Resources to restore the environment is UAH 82.5 billion... In 2025, it is planned to allocate UAH 25 billion from the state budget for such projects," she said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
According to Hrynchuk, the Ministry of Natural Resources has submitted more than 43 concepts for investment projects. In particular, in the field of water management, waste management, subsoil use, soil restoration, environmental control, environmental monitoring, development of the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone, forestry, climate change and prevention of industrial pollution, as well as restoration of nature conservation areas. Of these, 41 projects have been included in the Unified portfolio of public investment projects, some projects are already at the implementation stage, the minister specified.
