Ukraine exports 60 mln tonnes of cargo via maritime corridor

Over 11 months of operation, the Ukrainian maritime corridor has transported 60 million tonnes of cargo, the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) reported on Facebook.

"Sixty million tonnes is the cargo turnover of the Greater Odesa ports over 11 months of operation of the Ukrainian corridor," USPA said in a statement on Friday.

Some 40.6 million tonnes of this volume consists of grain cargo. Their export deliveries were made to 46 countries worldwide.

"The Manta Hacer bulker is moving along the Ukrainian corridor with 25,200 tonnes of Ukrainian humanitarian wheat to Yemen. This is another vessel chartered by the United Nations World Food Programme," USPA said.

The Authority said that despite the war and the enemy's insidious attacks on port infrastructure, including hangars for storing agricultural products, Ukraine remains a key player in the global food security issue, especially regarding grain exports to Asia and Africa.

As reported, over 10 months of operation, the Ukrainian maritime corridor transported a record export cargo volume of 55 million tonnes. In mid-July, it reached 57.55 million tonnes.
